Papier Mache Easter Egg
In order to make our craft - a bright, unbreakable Easter egg made of papier-mâché, we will need PVA glue, newspapers, water, gouache paints and plasticine. To begin with, let's make a mold from plasticine, which we will later paste over. If you have other blanks in the shape of eggs (as in our case, packaging from a children's toy) you can use them. The second step is to chop (or cut) a sufficiently large amount of paper. Ideally, 6-7 sheets. We will moisten a small amount of paper pieces in water. To do this, simply type it in a bowl.Glue the blank with wet paper (note that glue is not used yet) in one layer. The next stage is to mix water and glue in proportions of one to two.All subsequent layers of the newspaper will be wetted already in this mixture. We put another layer of newspaper cutting (soaked in glue water) on the pasted-over blank and give it well dry out The optimal time is two to three hours. After that we put some more layers. Prerequisite is the drying of the previous layer before applying the next. When our form is glued 7-8 layers, leave the craft to dry for a day and a half. After this period expires, apply a thick layer of gouache on the egg white paint - it will be a kind of primer. Wait until the egg dries, and with a sharp knife cut the layer of paper so that you can pull out the form.We glue the place of the cut with PVA glue or superglue. The craft is ready! Now you can decorate the egg. Here fantasy has no limits! Primer - the perfect basis for applying paint. You can use both gouache and watercolor, painting handicrafts. If you have beads or rhinestones in stock - you can stick them too.
