How to build a log house: the rules for laying logs
For the manufacture of high-quality log houses, logs with a diameter of 20 to 26 cm, hewn from the bottom by one edge, are used. In order for houses and baths from log cabins to have good stability, and the logs on the foundation should be tightly fixed, the lower edge must be at least 15 cm wide. When laying the first rim, you must use a level gauge to avoid construction skewing. It is also worth remembering about waterproofing, treatment with antiseptics and impregnation.
The gap between the logs and the foundation is filled with mounting foam, for gaps between other logs it is better not to use it. Next are the subsequent crowns, between them are placed layers of insulation in the form of tow, dry moss or felt.
Connection with dowels and log fender
To ensure the strength and rigidity of the building, additional fasteners are used as the log connection of the dowels. With the help of a dowel with a length of about 60 cm fasten two adjacent crown crown.
A caulk is performed twice: immediately upon completion of the construction of the building and 1-2 years later, when the log house shrinks. The materials used are moss, tow or felt.
When buying a finished log house, it is important to pay attention to the presence of marking logs. Each log should be marked with paint - this will allow you to quickly and correctly assemble the log house yourself.
