I Am Excited, So I Paint My Nails Red

It is already December 1. Hmn…Christmas has just officially started, eh? There are three things about December that excite me. First, my birthday falls on the month; three days before Christmas. I would say I am lucky for being born on December, much more on the closer date to Christmas for I can celebrate my birthday along with it, as I have been. Second, the Christmas of course, and/or the Christmas eve, the most joyful time of year. Just by the sound of the word “Christmas” brings a lot of joyfulness in the heart. Third, the alumni homecoming. I was informed the alumni homecoming this year is different from the previous years or from the usual. It was said there’ll be a 3-day alumni homecoming celebration. I am excited as early as now!

Although I do not feel much of the spirit of Christmas yet here in our place, particularly in this block where I live, I am still excited and looking forward to those upcoming events. And even though financially struggling, it shouldn’t hinder everyone to feel the joy of the nearing day of the Savior’s birthday. Since I am excited, I had my nails painted today having Christmas in mind.

Mama called her “suking manicurista” or  frequented manicurist + pedicurist  to fix her toenail ingrown today.  She only calls her when she has ingrown problem. Although I was not happy about the real reason why the suki was here, I was happy that mother had my nails done too and paid for it. She had my nails done before hers for she likes it when the person is fixing her nails in no rush.  It seldom happens as my mother is naturally a cheapskate, so I nodded to the invitation with big grin. It’s been a while since my nails received that kind of pampering.

Here’s the nails. The suki didn’t do a neat job but I didn’t mind the clutter. I had my nails done after several months and it was all that matters.  I had on two different shades of reds on both finger and toenails.

Fuchsia Twinkle on right and Guns N Roses on the left.  Same goes with the toenails.  Oh, please excuse the ugly feet.

These two shades both come with glitters in the bottle. I find the colors pretty and very Christmasy; perfect to wear on the first day of December, to meet the joy it will bring.  This is enough proof how excited I am about December despite all the trials we are facing.

Rainbow After The Rain

Lying in bed for one whole week, barely moving and standing only when in need of some comfort (CR), was more tiring than doing an online work. Oh how I wished for a fast recovery during those days of pain so I could sit and blog again. I actually was still blogging during the first two days of the formation of the cyst but on the third day, the pain became unbearable that I had to lie down until the seventh day. Boring + Painful, it surely was a very bad combination. No entertainment. My books became unattractive (due to the pain). No TV in the room. I’ve have been seeing my room’s ceiling a lot for one week and I was kind of fed up by that view. That’s why, when the cyst finally went away, which was around four in the morning on Wednesday last week, I stood up, rushed outside and looked up the sky.  I sighed with relief. I was so happy to be able to walk again without pain.

A pose under a dwarf Jambul (black plum/lomboy) tree.

Few days after, my walking got back to normal. I even climbed up a mountain with my cousin. Thanks to her for that cool mountain adventure. Although we weren’t able to gather some young coconuts for buko salad as planned, it was still fun. I was thankful that at least I had some exercise. To my gratefulness for being able to walk, I gave a piggy-back ride to cousin’s youngest daughter Momay while going down the sloppy hill.

With Momay

Isn’t it nice to be so alive and lively? To be free from any illnesses? During those days I was in bed, I promised to myself that once I get better, or once I’ll be able to stand up again, I will jog around town. I even joked at my sister that I’ll do the “tumbling” stunt. Lol! Well, I just did more than that for I climbed a mountain. I will climb a coconut tree next time…lol!

Spotted At The Project Tour

This is a long overdue post as it happened last June. It was the last rock music event I attended…Oh how I miss the nerve-rocking, head-banging songs!

I was spotted at the Project Tour Digging The Deep music event with my youngest sister Cheep in Nigan’s Resto and Grill last June 2, 2012. I was invited by the owner of Bewear Apparels, a local shop of high quality printed tees in Dipolog City who was the organizer and major sponsor of the said event. I, being one of the sponsors too, am glad that the event was a success. I attended the event wearing a tee from Think Positive Wear while Cheep  went with me wearing a tee from Dig Deep, which both were sold in Bewear Apparels. We chose to wear these tees from the two particular brands because they were two of the major sponsors that night. Credits to those took these pictures, which I think the August Skyline group. I didn’t know these photos with me in it were taken. Read more »

#113/366 Blog Photo Challenge

This is going to be another short blog post. I just got home from accompanying my little sisters swimming in a pool in Mibang Hotel and I am tired at the moment of thinking about anything to post. So let me just share a picture of this balot I had the last time I went with cousin and her daughter in the boulevard.
