Add Laughter Into Your Life

I believe that laughter is the best medicine. We should just laugh our problems away because sooner or later, those problems we are facing today will go away solved or unsolved. There is no use in being in vain for a long time just because of those trials in life. After my father’s passing not long ago, I thought I wouldn’t be able to laugh a genuine laugh ever again but I realized it is not something that my father would want. I am sure he wants me and the family to go on with our lives for he may have passed away, memories of him will always stay.

Anyway, back to laughter being the so-called best medicine, it indeed does good to our health. It was stated that laughter can improve alertness, reduce stress and increase memory. These benefits that have just mentioned are only the minor ones. What’s better news about laughter is that, which I just learned today, can lower blood pressure. It also defends against respiratory infections and increases the response of the tumor and disease-killing cells.

Having learned these things, we should start putting a doze of laughter in our everyday lives. It wouldn’t be that hard to do. It feels good to laugh and everyone sure wants that feeling of forgetting troubles for a while and have a good laugh with family and friends. There are lots of funny things to see and to do in this world. Let’s not limit ourselves. We can exchange jokes with someone. In the internet, we can see funny pictures, watch funny videos and read humors.  We can as well express our funny side by wearing funny music tees or those tees with humorous prints. Mentioning tees, hit on that link and you’ll find a lot of tees with cool and fun prints.

Two Days With Insomnia

I slept all day today. It was good for I needed those long hours of sleep. My eyes and body claimed those two days of sleeplessness and stress. I was up for two days, yes that was 48 hours, due to insomnia. Being up for 48 hours is my worst so far when having insomnia. If you are like me who suffers such sleep condition, you truly can relate how hard it is to catch even a nap when insomnia attack. You cannot sleep the whole night so when morning comes, you’ll feel weak and tired and your eyes feel heavy or sleepy. The bad thing though, even how hard you’ll try to close your eyes to catch some sleep, your mind gets too active making the much-needed sleep so elusive.

So during those days, I just stayed in front the computers to either blog or watch dramas online and then when tired with the computer, I alternately played Xbox.  I was like blogging since 6 in the morning until midnight then watch some episodes of Korean dramas from midnight until two or in the morning. That was all sitting and typing and looking at the screen I did. I only stood up to get myself a glass of coffee or to go to the bathroom to pee.

Then at around three early in the morning when tired when all the computer/online work, I sit on the couch and faced the challenges in Baldur’s Gate in my Xbox game Dark Alliance II. When totally exhausted, I only lied down to rest my eyes and body…though the mind wasn’t. So these are all the things I did in two of insomnia.

My Second Day With Conzace

It is my second day today with Conzace!
Photobucket

I mentioned in this post about the arrival of my package from Unilab including the funny story of the delivery. The package contained a box of a hundred capsules of Conzace multivitamins. I took a capsule right then after breakfast and today too.

I take a capsule in the morning around 7:00 a.m. after breakfast. Since I have adapted American time wherein morning is my bedtime,  it is like I am taking Conzace at night time and so far I got the benefit of a good sleep and alertness when waking up. I didn’t feel headache as one said being a side effect of Conzace. That is because I take Conzace after a meal. It is advised to take a capsule after a meal either in the morning or in the evening. So if you are planning to take Conzace,  better do what is advised.

Conzace is now a part of my life and I am looking forward to more of its benefits.

Rainbow After The Rain

Lying in bed for one whole week, barely moving and standing only when in need of some comfort (CR), was more tiring than doing an online work. Oh how I wished for a fast recovery during those days of pain so I could sit and blog again. I actually was still blogging during the first two days of the formation of the cyst but on the third day, the pain became unbearable that I had to lie down until the seventh day. Boring + Painful, it surely was a very bad combination. No entertainment. My books became unattractive (due to the pain). No TV in the room. I’ve have been seeing my room’s ceiling a lot for one week and I was kind of fed up by that view. That’s why, when the cyst finally went away, which was around four in the morning on Wednesday last week, I stood up, rushed outside and looked up the sky.  I sighed with relief. I was so happy to be able to walk again without pain.

A pose under a dwarf Jambul (black plum/lomboy) tree.

Few days after, my walking got back to normal. I even climbed up a mountain with my cousin. Thanks to her for that cool mountain adventure. Although we weren’t able to gather some young coconuts for buko salad as planned, it was still fun. I was thankful that at least I had some exercise. To my gratefulness for being able to walk, I gave a piggy-back ride to cousin’s youngest daughter Momay while going down the sloppy hill.

With Momay

Isn’t it nice to be so alive and lively? To be free from any illnesses? During those days I was in bed, I promised to myself that once I get better, or once I’ll be able to stand up again, I will jog around town. I even joked at my sister that I’ll do the “tumbling” stunt. Lol! Well, I just did more than that for I climbed a mountain. I will climb a coconut tree next time…lol!

Bartholin’s Cyst, My Yearly Pain

After a week of pain(i was glad it was just a week) due to the swelling of my bartholin’s cyst, I have accepted that it is already a part of my life. Well, it has been for the last six years and it will be for the years to come. I do not like it but I have no choice. It is said that in 100 women, there is one who unfortunately suffers the yearly pain due to the cyst that grows inside a woman’s bartholin’s gland.  And I am one of those unfortunates who get to suffer it every year.

The bartholin’s glands (we have two) are located at the entrance, one on each side, of a woman’s vagina. These  glands are the ones that secrete fluids or lubricate  a woman’s intimate part. When its duct is blocked, it is when the cyst form. The cause of the blockage of that glands is unknown and there is no known treatment that can totally eliminate the cyst. Surgical operation can only prolong the occurrence of the cyst about a year or two but eventually, the cyst grows back again. Sitz bath helps ease the pain and quickens the ripening of the cyst. The cyst is not life-threatening nor transmittable but it is very painful that I sometimes think I could die. Walking and sitting is very difficult. Read more »

Let’s Move and Let’s Love

chie25

It is time to make a good move: love myself!

I have a major goal this week and the coming weeks (just in time for my moving back to our home) and that is to start loving myself by living a happy and healthy life. I should start by freeing myself from all the sadness, bitterness and worries…and of course freeing myself from the bad habits too. I might have to do the latter slowly though as I’m certain I can’t do it right away.

I have been so selfish to myself in the last two years by giving in to depression, not putting myself on priority, ruining my own health, depriving myself from living happy and healthy. My failing marriage, it was the biggest reason for me to be depressed but apart from that, there were other things too that had put me down like family and self-pity issues.
