Crisps are an easier alternative to a pie or cobbler (no pastry crust to prepare!), but just as delicious. The little black dress of the pantry, cornflakes stand in for oats in this fun variation.

apples and pears
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
packed brown sugar
1 tsp. apple pie spice
3 1/2 c. cornflakes
5 tbsp. butter
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In buttered 13-inch by 9-inch baking dish, toss apple and pear chunks, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice, and salt.
- In bowl, crush cornflakes with butter, 1/3 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice until blended. Sprinkle over fruit.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
